Update - This message is an update from the Borough of Cornwall Water Department stating that the Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. They are awaiting an additional laboratory test result before they can lift the advisory. Residents are asked to continue following the boil water instructions posted on the borough's website www.cornwall-pa.com on the Water & Sewer page. The department will send another notification as soon as the advisory is lifted and apologizes for the inconvenience.
Original Message - During routine sampling, one sampling site tested positive for e. coli. Out of an abundance of caution, there is now a boil water advisory for the entire system. As a precautionary measure, customers are advised to boil their water before drinking or cooking. The use of water for showers and other non-food use is safe. We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers. If you are on our emergency alert notification list, you will be receiving this message shortly. A similar message will be issued after the boil water advisory is lifted.
