Cornwall Borough will be flushing approximately 160 fire hydrants throughout the water system.  The flushing program will begin on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 7 a.m. until we are finished with every area.  The process normally takes approximately three weeks.  The flushing will take place during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This schedule and length of time for flushing can change.

The flushing is required to clean the water system and check the operator of the hydrants.

The regular flushing route begins at the Cornwall Road Pump Station from there it will continue down Cornwall Road, into the Riding Club Estates, to Karinchville and end in Toytown.

We will finish up Toytown and head into Cornwall Center.  Pick up flushing in Alden Place, The Woods and thru Burd Coleman.  We are hoping to end the week in Minersvillage.

We will be heading into Goosetown then ending in the Rexmont area.

It is safe to use and drink the water during flushing.

During our hydrant flushing program, you may experience discolored or cloudy water.  If this should occur, run your cold water at the sink until the water clears.

Please remember that the water is safe.

If you have further concerns contact Cornwall Borough at (717) 274-3436.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to maintain the water system.
