Filing your Local Tax Return

Local Tax Return is Due April 18

It’s that time of year again. The 2015 local earned income tax return filing deadline is approaching. The due date is extended to Monday April 18 this year because Washington DC is commemorating Emancipation Day on Friday April 15.

Did you know the quickest way to get your refund is to file online? If you live and work in Pennsylvania, you can e-file on our tax administrator’s secure website, which is available 24/7 at www.KeystoneCollects.com.

Keystone Collections Group’s e-file is the easy, fast and secure way to file your 2015 tax return.  It lets you file your tax return when it is most convenient for you. You will need your W-2, your Social Security Number and any other income documents that may apply (such as a PA-UE or a Schedule C).

Keystone redesigned e-file to make it even faster and more user-friendly.

If you have questions regarding local tax filing, visit Keystone’s Frequently Asked Questions or call Keystone’s Taxpayer Helpline at 1-888-328-0565 to speak with a local, knowledgeable Taxpayer Service Agent. You can also email your questions 24/7 to Taxpayer Support. Taxpayer Service Agents try to respond to all online inquiries within three business days.

Taxpayers with earned income in 2015 are required to file a Final Tax Return by Monday, April 18.

 Leaf Collection Regulations Minimize

Cornwall Borough provides curbside leaf collection for its residents beginning in October and ending in December.  The Borough Highway Department will pick up leaves in all areas except ones zoned Residential Forest.  Residents can obtain the leaf collection schedule online or from signs at Borough Office and Post Office.

DO...

  • Check the schedule to know when your collection days are.
  • Rake leaves out 2 feet away from the curb (if possible) or to the edge (if uncurbed) in a long row type pile.
  • Piles to be collected should be placed away from mailboxes, trees and gardens.
  • Be aware that the collection is for leaves ONLY and any other debris may cause injury and will damage or break the equipment and will be left behind.
  • Phone the office at 274-3436 if you have any questions.

DO NOT...

  • Do not place sticks, twigs, grass clippings, brush, plants or garden trimmings in leaf pile.
  • Do not bag leaves.
  • Do not cover leaves with tarps that are weighted with bricks, blocks, etc on the day of collection.  All coverings and weights must be removed from the area where the leaves are piled.
  • Please do not expect the road crew to "wait" until you push your leaves out to the curb.  They are trying to maintain a schedule.
  • Please do not ask for individual pick-ups.  If you miss the scheduled date, try to make the next scheduled day for your area.

If your area is missed due to a holiday, the road crew will be there the following work day.  If your town is missed due to heavy loads, the road crew will be there the following day, even if it is not a scheduled day.  Also, if the road crew shows up a day before your scheduled day they will be there on your area's scheduled day as well.

The Borough also offers a Christmas tree drop-off in a designated area at the Highway Garage from January 1 to mid February.  Trees ten feet or more must be cut in half and be cleaned of ALL decorations!  Christmas tree bags WILL NOT be accepted.
